The Scoop integration allows CommuteHub users to easily connect with Scoop and access carpooling options as part of their daily commute. By linking the two platforms, organizations can make shared commuting more accessible while reducing reliance on single-occupancy vehicles.
For a broader understanding of how integrations work in CommuteHub, see our Integrations Intro article.
What Is Scoop?
Scoop is a carpooling platform that helps match employees with similar routes and schedules so they can share rides to work. It simplifies the process of finding and coordinating carpools, making commuting more efficient, social, and cost-effective.
What the Scoop Integration Does
Scoop is a mobility integration that connects CommuteHub with users’ Scoop accounts to support shared commuting.
If your organization already uses Scoop for carpooling, an admin can enable the Scoop integration directly in the Management Dashboard. Once active, trips are automatically synced to CommuteHub. Employees can then continue using the Scoop app as usual or switch to managing their carpool through CommuteHub — either way, trip data stays in sync across both platforms.
How to Enable Scoop
Scoop must be enabled at the organization level before users can connect their accounts.
To enable Scoop in the management dashboard:
- Log into the Management Dashboard
- Click Settings in the left sidebar (Admin permissions required)
- Select Integrations
- Locate Scoop in the list of available integrations
- Toggle Scoop from Disabled to Enabled
☝️In some cases, you may need to request activation via email; if so, clear instructions will be provided on-screen. - Click Configure to adjust settings
- Choose availability:
- All users across your organization
- Only specific networks
- Confirm your settings
Once enabled, Scoop will appear as an available connected app for your users.
To disable the Scoop integration, switch the toggle back to Disabled and confirm. Once inactive, the integration will no longer be accessible to users.
What Users Need to Do
After Scoop is enabled, users must connect their own Scoop accounts. This cannot be done by admins for privacy and security reasons.
Users will need to:
- Have an active Scoop account
- Navigate to Connected Apps in their account settings
- Click Connect next to Scoop
- Sign in with their Scoop credentials
- Authorize CommuteHub to connect
The setup process is quick and only takes a few minutes.
For step-by-step instructions, direct users to: User Scoop Setup Guide.
To disconnect Scoop, users can return to the Connected Apps section and click Disconnect.
How the Integration Works
Once connected, users can access Scoop as part of their commuting options.
- Carpool matching and trip coordination are handled within Scoop
- CommuteHub acts as a central place to access and promote shared commuting options
- The integration helps streamline the overall commute experience without requiring users to manage everything separately
