The Transit integration provides your users with comprehensive public transit route planning and real-time schedules, offering a powerful alternative to Google Maps for public transportation navigation.
What is the Transit Integration?
Transit is a commute enhancement integration that connects CommuteHub with the Transit app, giving your users access to detailed public transit information directly within their commute planning workflow. This integration helps users discover and navigate public transportation options in their area, making it easier to choose sustainable commuting alternatives.
How Transit Works
Unlike activity logging integrations that require manual connection, Transit works automatically once enabled. When you activate the Transit integration:
- Transit route options appear automatically when users search for eligible routes
- Users can view real-time public transit schedules and routing information
- The integration provides an alternative to Google Maps specifically optimized for public transportation
- Users who want to use Transit features will need to download the Transit app, but no manual account connection is required
How to Enable Transit
- Log into the Management Dashboard
- Click "Settings" in the left sidebar (if you don't see this option, you don't have Admin permissions)
- Select "Integrations" from the menu
- Find "Transit" in the list of available integrations

Toggle the integration from Disabled to Enabled
- Click "Configure" to customize settings
- Choose availability:
- All users across your organization
- Only specific networks (select which networks should have access)
- Confirm your settings
Once confirmed, Transit will appear as a routing option for users when they search for commute routes.
To disable the Transit integration, switch the toggle to Disabled and confirm.
User Experience
After you enable Transit, your users will:
- See Transit as an available option when planning routes in the application
- Be able to view public transit schedules and route information
- Need to download the Transit app if they want to access the full Transit experience
- Automatically have access without needing to connect any personal accounts
No action is required from individual users to "connect" Transit—it simply becomes available as a routing option within their CommuteHub experience.
