Parking Insights helps you understand how your parking capacity is released and used over time. It also gives you insight into reservations, financials, and operations. With the different tabs available in the report, you can analyze booking behavior, monitor financial performance, identify trends, and spot possible bottlenecks in your parking setup.
Admins use this report to monitor capacity utilization, compare timeframes, analyze purchasing behavior, and identify patterns across facilities, products, and networks. This makes it easier to adjust how and when capacity is released and to make more informed decisions about your parking setup.
How to access Parking Insights
You can access Parking Insights from the management dashboard:
- Go to the left sidebar
- Click Reports
- Select Parking Insights
When opening Parking Insights, you will now land on the Financial tab by default.
Using the Financial tab
The Financial tab provides an overview of all parking-related purchases and financial trends across your organization. It combines a visual analytics chart with a detailed transaction table, allowing you to quickly analyze spending behavior and drill down into specific transactions.
Using the filters
At the top of the page, you can filter the data shown in both the chart and the table.
Available filters include:
- Timeframe: Select the date range you want to analyze
- Facilities: Choose one or more facilities
- Products: Filter by specific parking products or offers
- Networks: Compare purchasing behavior across different networks in your organization
Understanding the financial chart
The chart at the top of the page helps you quickly identify financial trends and purchasing behaviour.
How to read the chart
- The X-axis shows the selected time period, such as days or hours
- The Y-axis shows the amount of money spent
- The chart visualizes purchasing trends across your selected facilities, products, or networks
This makes it easy to identify patterns in parking behavior and spot potential operational issues.
For example, you may notice significantly higher spending at the beginning of each month due to the purchase of monthly parking passes. Lower spending toward the end of the month may indicate that most recurring users have already secured their parking.
The chart can also help identify bottlenecks or unusual behavior. A sudden drop in purchases for a specific facility or network could indicate a configuration issue, limited capacity, or reduced demand.
Customizing the chart
By clicking the gear icon next to the chart, you can access additional chart settings and customize how the data is displayed.
Available options include:
- Changing the chart interval from daily to hourly
- Breaking down the data by product
- Comparing products against each other
- Switching between chart types, such as:
- Linear chart
- Pie chart
Understanding the financial table
Below the chart, you will find a detailed transaction table containing all purchases made within the selected filters.
The table allows you to see:
- Who made a purchase
- What product was purchased
- When the purchase was made
- The purchase amount
- The payment method used
You can also export the table data as:
- Excel (.xlsx)
- CSV (.csv)
This makes it easy to perform additional reporting or share the data externally.
Grouping and filtering table data
The financial table includes advanced filtering and grouping options that allow you to analyze your data in more detail.
Grouping data
You can drag and drop filter fields into the top row of the table to group the data.
For example, grouping by Network allows you to compare purchasing behavior across different networks within your organization.
You could also group by other filter terms.
Adding or adjusting columns
By clicking the three dots next to a filter term, you can:
- Choose additional columns
- Add more filters
- Change the sorting direction
- Adjust how the data is displayed
Selecting Choose columns allows you to customise which information is visible in the table.
Advanced filtering
By clicking the three-line filter icon next to a filter term, you can apply more detailed filtering.
For example, you can search for a specific user by typing their name directly into the filter.
This allows you to narrow down large datasets and quickly locate specific transactions or behaviors.
Using the Reservations tab
The Reservations tab shows how parking capacity is released and booked over time.
Start by selecting your filters at the top of the page:
- Facilities: Choose one or more facilities
- Products: Select the offers you want to analyze
- Timeframe: Set the date range
- Comparison date (optional): Add a second timeframe to compare
The chart below updates automatically based on your selection.
How to read the reservations chart
The chart shows the average bookings of a product in a facility leading up to a parking date.
- The horizontal axis shows the days before the booking date, including the booking day
- The vertical axis shows the percentage of total capacity occupied
- Each line represents a product sold in a facility
The chart is color-coded so you can easily compare multiple offers at once.
Dotted lines show when capacity was released according to the release schedule. This helps you understand not just how much capacity is available, but also when it became available.
To see more details for a specific day, you can:
- Hover over the chart to view exact values
- Adjust your filters to focus on a specific date
Reservations example
Say "Full Day Parking" at Facility A releases all its capacity 7 days before the parking date. The chart shows bookings steadily climbing and reaching 100% occupancy already 2 days before the parking date.
This suggests demand is high and there may be an opportunity to:
- Increase prices for this product
- Promote available capacity at a nearby facility
- Introduce an additional offer to absorb overflow demand
