Depending on your organization's settings, CommuteHub can either Record your trips automatically or allow you to log them manually. This article covers manual trip logging.
You can also ask CommuteAI to log a trip for you if this feature is available in your organization.
Why log trips at all? Trip data helps organizations improve mobility, support sustainability programs, run challenges, reward users, and better understand how people commute to work. For many users, it is also an easy way to keep track of their own commuting habits.
Before you start
Open the Log section:
- Mobile app: Tap Log in the bottom navigation.
- Desktop: Click Log in the left sidebar.
This page shows your previously logged trips and, if available, your parking bookings.
To create a new entry, click Log a trip.
Select your dates
Choose the day you want to log in the calendar. The selected day turns blue.
Some organizations allow trips to be added several days or weeks later, while others have shorter deadlines. If your organization runs commute challenges, it is recommended to log trips regularly so they count toward the challenge.
☝️If you commute the same way every Monday to Friday, simply select all relevant days and log them together.
Add your trip details
Choose whether your trip was:
- A single trip
- A round trip
Then enter your arrival and departure times.
Next, select your transportation mode.
If you used multiple modes, you can add an additional transportation mode. Your primary mode should be the one used for the largest part of your journey.
Example:
You travel 30 minutes by train and then cycle 10 minutes to the office. In this case, your primary mode would be Train and your additional mode would be Bike.
Finally, enter your route and distance. Many users travel the same route regularly, so saved routes often make future trip logging much faster.
If your organization offers a CommuteBonus, you may see your reward before saving.
Click Save to complete your trip.
Common issues
The Save button does not work
- Make sure you selected a date in the calendar. The selected date must appear in blue.
- Users sometimes accidentally select weekends or the wrong day. Double-check the date before saving.
You made a mistake
- Depending on your organization's settings, you may be able to edit a trip yourself.
- If you cannot make changes or if the mistake affects a CommuteBonus, challenge, or reward, contact your CommuteHub manager for assistance.
Occasional verification checks may be carried out to ensure accurate trip logging. If additional information is required, you will receive instructions by email.
If you have any questions, your CommuteHub manager is always happy to help.
