The Proxy as a User feature allows Managers and Admins to view the application exactly as a specific user sees it. This powerful troubleshooting tool helps you quickly identify why a user may be experiencing issues—such as missing challenges, trouble logging trips, or confusion about available features.
This feature is only available for Admins and Managers. For more information on access levels, see: Roles & Permissions_New.
How to Proxy as a User
Follow these steps to proxy as a user:
- Log in to the New Management Dashboard.
- In the left sidebar, click Users.
- Select User List.
- Search for the user you want to proxy as.
- Click the user’s name to open their profile.
- The profile opens on the Overview tab by default.
- Click the Proxy as User button.
- You will now be taken into the app, viewing it exactly as the selected user.
If you’re an Admin but the user is a standard user, you will not see Admin tools while proxied. This helps you understand the user’s actual experience, including their limitations.
☝️ Please keep in mind: While proxied, every action you take is recorded as if the user performed it, so be cautious.
How to Exit Proxy Mode
Always exit Proxy mode when finished to restore your full permissions
Steps to exit:
- Look for the blue rectangle in the lower right corner of the screen.
- Click on the exit icon to exit.
- You will return to the Management Dashboard.
☝️Always double-check that you’ve exited before navigating away.
Troubleshooting Example
Scenario: A user says they cannot log a trip.
Troubleshooting steps:
- Proxy as that user.
- Try logging a trip yourself.
- Let's say the issue was the user skipped the date selection in Triplogging. → Advise them on the crucial need to select the date for all future entries.
If proxying doesn’t reveal the problem:
- Document exactly what you tested.
- Note what you observed while proxied.
- Contact the Support Team.
This information helps Support quickly identify bugs or configuration issues.
