Rewards
Many organizations offer incentive and reward programs to encourage sustainable commuting.
Common incentive and reward program types include:
-
Trip-based rewards: Points or prizes for logging a certain number of trips.
☝️ Some rewards are only available to specific networks - if you're not in the right network, you won't see those rewards. Also, certain programs only count specific transportation modes (like biking or transit) as qualifying trips.
-
Mode-specific incentives: Special rewards for biking, walking, or using transit.
You'll automatically see only the rewards you can actually participate in. So if you always carpool, you won't see cycling rewards.Want to unlock more options? Switch up your commute and try different transportation modes.
Each reward shows a brief explanation, contact info if something goes wrong, participation timeframes, and of course the "Join" button to get started.
Point-based rewards: Earn points to exchange for gift cards or prizes.
Depending on your organization, you can earn a certain number of points per trip. These points can then be redeemed for great prizes such as gift cards, company merchandise, and much more. Let yourself be surprised and start collecting points to win awesome prizes.
You can find available point-based rewards in the rewards menu under "Active." Here you can see not only what the reward is, but also how many points it costs and how long you have to redeem your points for the prize.
☝️ Some companies offer Emergency Ride Home vouchers as point-based rewards. For example, you can redeem 200 points for an Uber ride home when your regular ERH benefits have been exhausted.
Raffles and contests: Enter raffles by logging trips and exchange the points for raffle tickets.
What are raffles?
Raffles and contests are special reward programs where you earn tickets or entries based on your commuting activity, then compete for prizes through drawings or competitions.
How to participate: Raffles typically count one of three metrics to determine eligibility:
Distance: Complete a certain number of miles/kilometers using sustainable transportation
Days commuted: Log trips on a specific number of days
Total trips: Record a set number of commute trips regardless of mode
Example scenarios:
Distance-based: Bike 20 miles in one month to earn a raffle ticket
Trip-based: Log 10 commute trips (any mode) in one month to qualify for entry
Day-based: Commute sustainably on 15 different days to earn your ticket
How tickets work: The more tickets you earn, the better your chances of winning. Some raffles allow multiple tickets per person, while others limit you to just one entry. Check each raffle's specific rules for details.
Participation requirements: Each raffle has its own specific terms and conditions clearly described in the program details. Requirements vary by organization and can change between different raffles.
Prize drawings: Once the participation period ends, winners are selected and notified. Prizes range from gift cards and merchandise to larger rewards depending on your organization's program.
Where to find them: Look for raffles and contests in your "Rewards" section under active programs.
Active, Available & Completed
The Rewards section is organized into three main tabs: "Active," "Available," and "Completed." Active rewards include point-based programs where you can exchange accumulated points for various prizes or services, such as an Emergency Ride Home voucher. These active rewards require you to join or enroll in the program to participate. The Available tab displays rewards that are currently open for enrollment or redemption. Completed rewards represent programs that have already ended, been claimed by you, or have expired past their redemption deadline.
