What are Challenges?
Challenges are a fun way to turn your everyday trips into a bit of friendly competition. You can participate on your own or as part of a team. Many organizations run campaigns like Bike Month or Carpool Week, so there is often something new to join.
Where to find Challenges
After logging in:
- Go to your Home screen
- Scroll down until you see the Challenge widget
- Click on the widget
You will now see two tabs:
- Available → active challenges you can participate in
- Completed → challenges that have already ended
If you cannot find a challenge:
- Your organization may not be running one
- You may not be part of the eligible network
Understanding a Challenge
- Click on any challenge from the Available tab
- You will enter the challenge view
Every challenge is structured into three tabs at the top:
- Overview → stats
- Leaderboard → rankings
- Info → rules
These three areas work together. Most confusion comes from not checking the Info tab, so it is always worth reviewing it early.
Overview tab
The Overview tab is the first screen you see and gives you a full snapshot of your participation.
Your ranking
At the top left, you will see your ranking:
- If you are participating individually → your personal rank
- If you are in a team → your team rank
- If both apply → both rankings are displayed
Accessing your team
If you are part of a team, your team widget is clickable.
Clicking it opens your team page where you can:
- See team statistics
- Read the team description
- View the team leader’s contact information
- Leave the team
Challenge statisticsBelow the ranking, you will find the main stats. You can switch between three views:
Depending on the challenge, stats may include:
These stats reflect what the challenge is tracking, but not necessarily what determines the ranking. Always confirm that in the Info tab. |
Teams: joining, creating, and managing
1.Joining and leaving a team
You can join a team in two ways:
- By receiving an invite link from a teammate
- Automatically, if your organization assigns teams based on networks
How to leave a team:
- In the Overview tab, click the icon on the Team widget
- Select Leave Team button at the bottom
2.Creating a team
If team creation is enabled in the challenge:
- Open the challenge
- Go to the Leaderboard tab
- Select Teams using the filter (usually top left)
- Look for a Create team button
When creating a team, you will need to:
- Enter a team name
- Add a team description
Then confirm by clicking Create team.
If you do not see this option, the challenge may not allow team creation.
3. Accessing and managing your team
Once you created a team:
- Go to the Overview tab
- Click on your team widget
This opens your team view.
4. Inviting users to your team
Inside your team view:
- Go to the Leaderboard section within the team page
- Click Invite users
- A shareable invite link will be generated
You can send this link to anyone you want to invite.
The Manage option allows you to:
- Use the search icon to find users
- Use the person + icon to invite users
- Remove users using the icon next to their name
☝️Regular team members will not see these options, you need to be the creator of the team.
Leaderboard tab
The Leaderboard shows how you compare to others.
You can filter between:
- Individuals
- Teams
- Networks
You can use the search icon to quickly find a person or team and compare your position.
In some challenges, you can log a trip directly from the Leaderboard. If that option is not available, simply log your trip as usual in the app and it will still count.
Keep in mind that rankings are based on different metrics depending on the challenge, such as number of trips, distance, or CO₂ saved. Check the Info tab to see what determines the ranking.
Info tab
The Info tab explains how the challenge works. This is the most important tab if something seems unclear.
Here you will find:
- Start and end dates (activity period)
- Rules and eligibility
- What trips count
Examples of rules you may see:
- Only trips from Monday to Friday count
- Trips must be validated through an integration
- Only specific modes of transport are eligible
If something is not working, check here first. In many cases, the explanation is already provided.
You will also find a contact person for further questions.
