If your commute patterns have changed recently, updating your preferred mode in Commute Tracker will help ensure the app detects and predicts your commute accurately. To make this change, you’ll first need to learn where you can find the setting, but once you’re there it will be easy to make this small but essential adjustment.
Navigating to Your App’s Settings
To navigate to Settings, you’ll need to have previously installed and logged in to Commute Tracker. For the remainder of this tutorial, we’ll be assuming you’ve already done so, but if you need help with this initial setup, you can visit our page covering that topic here: Setting Up Commute Tracker.
Once you’re connected and have Commute Tracker open, tap the last section at the bottom of the screen titled, “Profile.” In the upper-right corner of the screen on this page, you should see a ‘gear’ icon. Tapping it will take you to the settings page.
Changing Your Preferred Mode
The specific setting we’re looking for in this how-to is within the “Edit Profile” menu. Tap this choice to find the “Preferred Mode” setting. Tap “Preferred Mode” to open the selection page.
Tapping on the mode you currently have saved will open the drop-down list for all the commute-modes available to you. If you’re choosing telework, this is generally located at the bottom of the list, and you may need to scroll to find it or other modes.
After choosing your new preferred mode, be sure to tap the “Save” button in the top-right corner of the page! Pressing the back button or closing the app before doing so will not save your new selection.
Finishing Up
After you’ve saved your new mode preference, consider going back one screen to the “Edit Profile” page to check your other profile settings. Be sure to update your addresses if you’ve moved residences or workplaces. Ensuring that your commute schedule is accurate will also help the app predict your trips more precisely if this feature applies to your RideAmigos platform.
